Paper Village is shop and workshop venue, based on North Street in Southville, Bristol. It specialises in paper crafts, paper engineering, mixed media, altered art, block printing, glazing resin, fine art papers, book arts, surface design, drawing, origami and paper cutting. However, they don’t only deal with paper craft products. Paper Village also provide workshops and supplies for creative knitting and crochet, needle felting, and other yarn-related arts and crafts.
Paper Village sell lots of different art and craft making supplies and all kinds of bits and pieces for making things. They also rent out equipment such as: rubber stamps, a sewing machine and a badge making machine. Paper Village have busy arts and craft course programme including sessions for adults, children and families. They also host parties. The small but packed space is regularly transformed for all of the different activities that go on there.
Paper Village has a strong community focus and involves the local community in many aspects of the shop, the courses and events. Lots of local artists, craftspeople and makers give time for free to help the project develop. They have a paper cutting artist in residence in our studio. They offer help and advice with projects, cut shapes and letter stencils, connect people with one another and have a number of social groups and activities.
