This year’s North Somerset Arts Week takes place from 3rd – 12th May 2013. It is run by North Somerset Arts, an organisation that promotes the arts in North Somerset, across a broad range of media, including painting, glass, ceramics and crafts to theatre, dance and music. Since the first event took place in 2003, Somerset Arts Week has grown to become a major event in the South West art, craft and design calendar. Its aim is to showcase local artists and make art accessible to a wide public audience. Up to 20,000 visitors are expected to visit during the 10 days of the event.
The Arts Week involves over 300 artists showing their work at 94 venues across the North Somerset area, in locations such as Portishead, Clevedon, Nailsea, Wraxall, Blagdon and more (see the map for more details). Artists showing their work at North Somerset Arts Week 2013 include: Stephen Jacobson, the Gordano Textile Group, Teän Kirby, Portbury Arts, the 08 Textile Group, Chelvey Designer Makers, Backwell School, The Group Aloft, Pyne Point Arts and Crafts, Conny Ridge, Heather Jane Wallace and many more.
