A new art trail takes place in Bristol for the first time this year. The BS9 Arts Trail presents the work of 74 local artists over the weekend of 10th-11th May 2014.
The trail is located in the north of the city and takes in the areas of Henleaze, Stoke Bishop, Westbury-on-Trym, Henbury and surrounding locations.
Every aspect of the creative arts will be on show – ceramics, painting, jewellery, sculpture, textiles, printmaking, and more – and the artists will be on hand to discuss their work.
Artists taking part in the trail include: Debby Bird, Sara Glass, Neil Murison, Jayne Trueman of Poppy Patchwork, Jonathan Kinkead and Harriet Cox.
BS9 Arts is a recently established arts group set up to organise this arts trail and other events and to facilitate contact and collaboration among local artists. Its aim is to reflect the BS9 area both creatively and geographically.
BS9 Arts made the decision to hold the trail in May as they hope to take advantage of the beautiful green spaces in BS9, including the Downs, Golden Hill, Westbury Wildlife Park and Blaise Estate. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy a walk through these spaces to the trail venues.
More information about the BS9 Arts Trail can be found at: http://www.bs9arts.co.uk/, including a map of venues and information about artists.
